NANA'S SONG
© 2015 Jileen & Richard Russell
I see your mother
In my son everyday
Her impression was so strong
And it doesn't go away
I see her smile rising
Like the sun in his face
I hear her whisper in his voice
Although she left us so many years ago
I see your mother in my son every day
Well he's grown up now
Oh yes in his own way
But her expressions on his face—
Still take my breath away
In a photograph, or a note
Or his voice coming down the line
I catch a glimpse of her…sometimes
A serious touch of love, that stays and stays
I see your mother in my son every day
I see her smile rising
Like the sun in his face
I hear her mischief in his voice
Although she left us so many years ago
I see your mother in my son
I see your mother in my son
I see your mother in my son every day
